Marit Stiles

Marit Stiles, born on September twentieth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a prominent Canadian politician who has made significant strides in Ontario's political landscape. As the leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP) and the leader of the Official Opposition since two thousand twenty-three, she has been a formidable advocate for her constituents.

Stiles began her political journey after being elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in two thousand eighteen, representing the Davenport riding. Her commitment to public service is evident from her previous role as a trustee for the Toronto District School Board in two thousand fourteen, where she worked to improve educational policies and outcomes.

Originally hailing from Newfoundland, Stiles relocated to Ontario to pursue her education at Carleton University. Before entering politics, she gained valuable experience as a policy researcher and later served as the research and policy director with ACTRA. Her leadership skills were further honed when she held the position of president of the New Democratic Party of Canada from two thousand sixteen to two thousand eighteen.
