Crowned Miss Finland 1957 by the previous year's winner, Sirpa Helena Koivu, she became the first woman from Finland to achieve this prestigious title, as well as the third Nordic woman to do so, following Sweden's early victories.

The Miss World pageant took place in London, England, where Lindahl captivated audiences and judges alike. Pageant director Eric Morley famously described her as possessing 'the haunting beauty and intrigue of a Greta Garbo.' Her remarkable presence earned her the crown, with Lilian Madsen from Denmark as the first runner-up, followed by Adele Kruger from South Africa and Jacqueline Tapia from Tunisia.

Beyond her pageant success, Lindahl was known for running one of the most popular restaurants in Helsinki, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit. Later in life, she relocated to England, where she settled in Oxford, continuing to leave her mark on the culinary scene.
