Mark Drakeford

Mark Drakeford, born on September nineteenth, nineteen fifty-four, in Carmarthen, West Wales, is a prominent Welsh politician known for his significant contributions to the Labour Party and Welsh governance. He first entered the political arena as the Member of the Senedd (MS) for Cardiff West in two thousand eleven, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in public service.

Drakeford's political journey includes notable roles such as Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care from two thousand thirteen to two thousand sixteen, and again on an interim basis in two thousand twenty-four. He served as Cabinet Secretary for Finance from two thousand sixteen to two thousand eighteen and was appointed Minister for Brexit during the same period. His leadership skills were further recognized when he succeeded Carwyn Jones as the Leader of Welsh Labour and First Minister of Wales in two thousand eighteen.

During his tenure, Drakeford led the Welsh Government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing his ability to navigate complex challenges.
