Mark Waid

Mark Waid, born on March 21, 1962, is a prominent American comic book writer, screenwriter, and novelist, celebrated for his influential contributions to the comic book industry. His remarkable portfolio includes iconic titles from both DC Comics and Marvel, such as The Flash, Kingdom Come, Superman: Birthright, Captain America, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil. Waid's storytelling prowess has left an indelible mark on the superhero genre.

In addition to his work with major publishers, Waid has collaborated with various other comic book companies, including Fantagraphics, Event, Top Cow, Dynamite, and Archie Comics. His versatility and creativity have allowed him to thrive in diverse storytelling environments, captivating audiences across different platforms.

From August 2007 to December 2010, Waid took on a leadership role at Boom! Studios, initially serving as Editor-in-Chief and later as Chief Creative Officer. During his tenure, he launched his own creator-owned series, Irredeemable and Incorruptible, further showcasing his innovative approach to comic book narratives.

In October 2018, Waid joined Humanoids Publishing as Director of Creative Development, where his vision and expertise led to his promotion as Publisher in February 2020. After a successful period with Humanoids, he transitioned back to freelancing in 2022, continuing to shape the future of comics with his unique voice and storytelling skills.
