Mart Poom

Mart Poom, born on February third, nineteen seventy-two, is a distinguished Estonian football coach and former professional player, celebrated as one of the greatest footballers in Estonia's history. Currently, he serves as the goalkeeping coach for the Estonia national team, imparting his extensive knowledge and experience to the next generation of players.

Poom's illustrious playing career saw him don the jerseys of several clubs, including Lõvid, Sport Tallinn, KuPS, Flora, Wil, Portsmouth, Derby County, Sunderland, Arsenal, and Watford. His international debut came on June third, nineteen ninety-two, during Estonia's first official match post-independence, where he played a pivotal role in a one-one draw against Slovenia.

Over the course of his career, Poom made a remarkable total of one hundred twenty appearances for the Estonia national team, serving as captain and leading by example. In November two thousand three, Poom was honored as Estonia's Golden Player, a testament to his impact on the sport in his home country.
