Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Marta Kubišová

Marta Kubišová, born on November first, nineteen forty-two, is a celebrated Czech singer, actor, politician, and recording artist. By the time the Prague Spring unfolded in nineteen sixty-eight, she had already established herself as one of the most beloved female vocalists in Czechoslovakia, particularly with her poignant song 'Modlitba pro Martu' or 'A Prayer for Marta.'

In nineteen sixty-seven, Kubišová was honored with the prestigious Zlatý slavík award, also known as the Golden Nightingale. Her music became a powerful symbol of national resistance during the occupation by Warsaw Pact troops in nineteen sixty-eight. Throughout the Prague Spring, she recorded over two hundred SP records and one LP, 'Songy a Balady' (Songs and Ballads), which was released in nineteen sixty-nine but quickly banned from stores.

Following the ban on her performances in nineteen seventy, Kubišová continued to contribute to the arts by arranging Angelo Michajlov's score for 'Dívka na Koštěti' (The Girl on a Broomstick) in nineteen seventy-one. She was also a prominent signatory of the Charter 77 proclamation, serving as one of its spokespeople, which highlighted her commitment to human rights and freedom of expression.

After the Velvet Revolution in nineteen eighty-nine, Kubišová made a triumphant return to music with the re-issue of 'Songy a Balady' and a compilation of her earlier works titled 'Lampa,' marking a significant revival in her career.
