Martin Kitchen

Martin Kitchen, born on December twenty-first, nineteen thirty-six, is a distinguished British-Canadian historian renowned for his expertise in modern European history, particularly focusing on Germany. His scholarly contributions have established him as a pivotal figure in the study of contemporary history, earning him international recognition.

Kitchen's academic journey began at Magdalen College, Oxford, followed by further studies at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at the University of London. In nineteen sixty-six, he embarked on his teaching career, which has spanned several decades, culminating in his current role as Professor Emeritus of history at Simon Fraser University. He has also imparted knowledge at the Cambridge Group for Population Studies at Cambridge University.

Throughout his illustrious career, Kitchen has been an active member of various editorial boards, including the International History Review, the Canadian Journal of History / Annales canadiennes d'histoire, and International Affairs.
