Martin Laursen

Martin Laursen, born on July 26, 1977, is a distinguished former Danish professional footballer renowned for his role as a centre-back. His career highlights include three successful seasons with the prestigious Italian club A.C. Milan, where he played a pivotal role in securing the UEFA Champions League title in 2003 and the Serie A championship in 2004.

In addition to his time at A.C. Milan, Laursen showcased his talents at other Italian clubs, including Hellas Verona and Parma. He also made a significant impact in the English Premier League as the team captain of Aston Villa, where he demonstrated leadership and skill on the pitch.

Laursen's international career with the Denmark national team spanned from 2000 to 2008, during which he earned fifty-three caps and scored two goals. His contributions to the national team were recognized when he was named the 2008 Danish Football Player of the Year. He represented Denmark in several major tournaments, including the 2000 European Championship, the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and the 2004 European Championship.
