Martin O'Neill

Martin O'Neill, born on March first, nineteen fifty-two, is a distinguished Northern Irish football manager and former player, renowned for his impactful career in both association and Gaelic football. Currently, he serves as the manager of the Scottish Premiership club Celtic, a role he has embraced with passion and dedication.

O'Neill's football journey began in the Irish League before he made a significant move to England, where he spent the majority of his playing career at Nottingham Forest. During his time there, he achieved remarkable success, winning the First Division title in the nineteen seventy-seven to seventy-eight season and lifting the European Cup twice, in nineteen seventy-nine and nineteen eighty. His contributions to the Northern Ireland national team were equally impressive, earning sixty-four caps and captaining the squad during the nineteen eighty-two World Cup.

Transitioning into management, O'Neill has led several clubs, including Grantham Town, Wycombe Wanderers, Norwich City, Leicester City, Celtic, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland. His tenure at Leicester City was particularly notable, guiding the team to the Football League Cup final three times and securing victory on two occasions. As the manager of Celtic from two thousand to two thousand five, he orchestrated a period of triumph, securing seven trophies, including three Scottish Premier League titles, and reaching the UEFA Cup Final in two thousand three.
