Martin Parr

Martin Parr, born on May twenty-third, nineteen fifty-two, is a renowned English documentary photographer and photojournalist celebrated for his unique approach to capturing modern life. His work often blends intimacy with satire, providing an anthropological perspective on the social classes of England and the broader wealth of the Western world.

Throughout his illustrious career, Parr has undertaken several major photographic projects, including 'Rural Communities' from nineteen seventy-five to nineteen eighty-two, 'The Last Resort' between nineteen eighty-three and nineteen eighty-five, 'The Cost of Living' from nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen eighty-nine, 'Small World' spanning nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen ninety-four, and 'Common Sense' from nineteen ninety-five to nineteen ninety-nine.

Since nineteen ninety-four, Parr has been a distinguished member of Magnum Photos, contributing to the world of photography with around sixty solo photobooks and participating in approximately ninety exhibitions globally. Notable among these is the international touring exhibition 'ParrWorld' and a significant retrospective at the Barbican Arts Centre in London in two thousand two.

In two thousand fifteen, he established the Martin Parr Foundation, which was registered as a charity the same year.
