Marvin Sordell, born on February 17, 1991, is an English footballer known for his role as a forward with Southern League Premier Division South club Uxbridge. His football journey began at Fulham, but it was at Watford where he truly made his mark, joining the club in 2007 for a two-year scholarship. Sordell made his professional debut during the 2009–10 season and had a notable loan spell at Tranmere Rovers in League One.
During his time at Watford, Sordell showcased his scoring prowess, netting twenty-seven goals in eighty-one appearances over two and a half years. This impressive performance led to a significant transfer to Bolton Wanderers in January 2012 for a fee of three million pounds. At Bolton, he scored eight goals in twenty-nine matches, but his career took a turn as he spent the entire 2013–14 season on loan at Charlton Athletic.
In the 2014–15 season, Sordell returned to the Premier League with Burnley, although he primarily played as a substitute, managing just one goal in twenty appearances. His contract was cancelled in September 2015, after which he joined Colchester United in League One, followed by a stint at Coventry City. After six months with Coventry, he moved to Burton Albion as part of a swap deal, and later had a loan spell at Northampton Town before retiring at the age of twenty-eight in 2019.
On the international stage, Sordell represented England at both under-20 and under-21 levels. He scored in his only appearance for the under-20s in February 2011 and found the net three times in fourteen games for the under-21 side. Additionally, he was selected for Stuart Pearce's Great Britain squad for the London 2012 Summer Olympics, where he made three appearances.
