Mason Alexander Plumlee, born on March 5, 1990, is a prominent American professional basketball player currently showcasing his skills with the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known affectionately as "Plumdog Millionaire," he primarily occupies the center position on the court.
Plumlee's basketball journey began in earnest during his time at Duke University, where he played a pivotal role as a back-up forward for the Blue Devils' national championship team in the 2009-2010 season. This period was particularly special as he shared the court with his older brother, Miles, and later, during his senior year, with his younger brother, Marshall.
Before his collegiate success, Plumlee was recognized as a standout player in high school, earning the title of a 2009 McDonald's All-American. His impressive performance at Duke led to his selection as the twenty-second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Brooklyn Nets.
In addition to his achievements in the NBA, Plumlee also represented the United States national team, contributing to their gold medal victory at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, further solidifying his status as a talented and dedicated athlete.
