Raymond's journey in hockey began in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), where he showcased his talent with the Camrose Kodiaks. During his two seasons there, he not only captured league and regional titles but also earned the prestigious title of league MVP in two thousand five. His impressive performance led him to the collegiate level, where he played for the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).
