Mateusz Morawiecki

Mateusz Morawiecki, born on June twentieth, nineteen sixty-eight, in Wrocław, Poland, is a distinguished economist and politician. He has made significant contributions to Polish politics, serving as the Prime Minister from two thousand seventeen to two thousand twenty-three. A member of the Law and Justice party, Morawiecki's political journey began with his appointment as deputy prime minister under Beata Szydło from two thousand fifteen to two thousand seventeen, during which he also held the roles of Minister of Development and Minister of Finance.

Morawiecki's academic background is impressive; he attended the University of Wrocław and furthered his studies at the University of Hamburg and the University of Basel, earning degrees in arts, business administration, and advanced studies. His career prior to politics was marked by a successful tenure in the banking sector, notably with Bank Zachodni WBK, where he rose to the position of chairman.

In December two thousand seventeen, following Szydło's resignation, Morawiecki was appointed Prime Minister. He led the Law and Justice party to victory in the two thousand nineteen parliamentary elections, securing a second term. However, after the United Right coalition failed to gain a majority in the two thousand twenty-three elections, he transitioned to lead a caretaker government.

On December eleventh, two thousand twenty-three, Morawiecki faced a vote of confidence in the Sejm, which resulted in the end of his cabinet's tenure. He continued to serve as acting prime minister until December thirteenth, two thousand twenty-three, when Donald Tusk was sworn in as his successor.
