Mathias Jørgensen

Mathias Jattah-Njie Jørgensen, widely recognized by his nickname Zanka, is a prominent Danish professional footballer born on April 23, 1990. He has established himself as a formidable centre-back, currently playing for FC Copenhagen, the club where he began his football journey.

Jørgensen's career took off at his boyhood club, FC Copenhagen, where he made a significant impact over five seasons in the Superliga. In 2012, he made a pivotal move to PSV Eindhoven, competing in the Eredivisie for two seasons. However, after facing limited opportunities, he returned to Denmark to continue his professional development.

In July 2017, Jørgensen transitioned to the Premier League, signing with Huddersfield Town for a fee of three and a half million pounds. He played a crucial role in the team until their relegation in 2019. Following his time in England, he joined Fenerbahçe, before making a return to the Premier League in 2021 with Brentford.

On the international stage, Jørgensen has represented Denmark at various youth levels, including under-16, under-17, under-18, and under-21. He made his senior debut for the national team at the young age of eighteen in November 2008, marking the beginning of his journey as a key player for his country.
