Mathias Pogba

Mathias Pogba, born on August 19, 1990, is a former professional footballer from Guinea who made his mark as a forward. He is part of a footballing family, with his twin brother Florentin and younger brother Paul also pursuing careers in the sport.

Pogba began his journey in football at Celta Vigo's youth academy before making a brief appearance with Quimper in France. His career took a significant turn when he moved to the United Kingdom, where he played for Wrexham and Crewe Alexandra, following in the footsteps of his brother Paul. After four years in the English leagues, he transitioned to Italian Serie B, joining Pescara in 2014, but soon returned to England to play for Crawley Town.

His career continued with short stints at Partick Thistle in Scotland and Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In September 2018, he signed with Tours, and during the 2019–20 season, he played in Spain for both Manchego and Lorca. On the international stage, Pogba represented the Guinea national team, earning five caps since his debut in 2013.

In a turn of events, Mathias Pogba was sentenced in December 2024 to three years in prison, with two years suspended, for attempting to extort thirteen million euros from his brother Paul Pogba.
