Matija Nastasić

Matija Nastasić, born on March 28, 1993, is a Serbian professional footballer renowned for his role as a centre-back. Currently, he plays for Al-Ula in the Saudi First Division League and represents the Serbia national football team.

Nastasić's football journey began at Partizan, where he showcased his talent before moving on loan to Teleoptik. In 2011, he made a significant leap to Italian club Fiorentina, where he spent a season honing his skills.

His career took a notable turn when he transferred to Manchester City for fifteen million euros, alongside a swap deal involving Stefan Savić. During his time at City, he celebrated winning the Premier League in 2014, despite facing challenges with injuries.

In 2015, Nastasić joined Schalke, where he enjoyed a lengthy seven-year stint before returning to Fiorentina in 2021. His international career began in 2012 when he made his senior debut for Serbia, and he has since earned over thirty caps for his country.
