Matilde Hidalgo

Matilde Hidalgo, born on September twenty-ninth, eighteen eighty-nine, was a pioneering Ecuadorian physician, poet, and activist. She made history as the first woman in Latin America to exercise the right to vote, a significant milestone in the fight for women's rights. Her contributions to society extended beyond her groundbreaking voting rights; she was also the first woman to earn a Doctorate in Medicine in Ecuador.
