Matjaž Smodiš

Matjaž Smodiš, born on December thirteenth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a distinguished former professional basketball player from Slovenia. With a towering height of two point zero five meters, or six feet eight and three-quarters inches, he excelled in the power forward and center positions throughout his illustrious career.

During his time on the court, Smodiš made a significant impact in the EuroLeague, competing in seven finals from two thousand one to two thousand nine. His remarkable achievements include being a three-time EuroLeague champion, securing titles in two thousand one, two thousand six, and two thousand eight. In recognition of his talent, he was also named to the All-EuroLeague Second Team in two thousand seven.

Beyond his club success, Smodiš proudly served as the team captain of the senior Slovenian national basketball team, showcasing his leadership and dedication to the sport. After retiring from professional play, he transitioned into a new role as the sporting director of KK Žoltasti Troti, where he continues to contribute to the basketball community.
