Matt Climie

Matt Climie, born on February 11, 1983, is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender known for his impressive career in both junior and collegiate hockey. He began his journey in the Maritime Junior Hockey League, where he played for three teams, ultimately finishing with the Truro Bearcats. During his final season, Climie earned accolades as an MJAHL All-Star, was named the league's Most Valuable Player, and shared the 'Best Goaltending Duo' award, showcasing his exceptional skills on the ice.

Following his successful junior career, Climie joined the Bemidji State Beavers men's ice hockey team. In his inaugural year, he played a pivotal role in leading the Beavers to victory in the College Hockey America tournament, earning the title of tournament MVP. Over his collegiate career, he set multiple school records, including those for shutouts as a freshman, single-season shutouts, career shutouts, and wins at the Division I level, while also being recognized on several All-CHA teams.

After completing his time at Bemidji State, Climie signed with the Dallas Stars as a free agent. He spent two seasons within the Stars' organization before moving to the Phoenix Coyotes, where he played for one year. His journey continued as he later signed with the Vancouver Canucks, further solidifying his presence in the National Hockey League.

Currently, Matt Climie is an unrestricted free agent, having most recently played with the CBR Brave in the Australian Ice Hockey League. His career reflects a dedication to the sport and a series of remarkable achievements that have left a lasting impact on the teams he has represented.
