Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Mauro Gianetti

Mauro Gianetti, born on March sixteenth, nineteen sixty-four, is a distinguished Swiss former professional road cyclist who transitioned into a successful career as a sporting director. With a remarkable legacy in the cycling world, Gianetti boasts over thirty professional victories, including prestigious races such as the 1995 Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the Amstel Gold Race. His prowess on the bike also led him to represent Switzerland at the two thousand Summer Olympics.

After retiring from competitive cycling, Gianetti took on the role of directeur sportif, notably managing the Saunier Duval–Prodir cycling team from two thousand four until two thousand eleven. His tenure was marked by significant achievements, although it was also shadowed by doping controversies involving several riders, including Riccardo Riccò and Juan José Cobo.

In two thousand sixteen, Gianetti played a pivotal role in acquiring the UCI WorldTeam license for Lampre-Merida, a project supported by TJ Sport Consultation. Following challenges with TJ Sport, he, alongside Giuseppe Saronni, secured backing from the United Arab Emirates, leading to the formation of the current UAE Team Emirates UCI WorldTeam. Today, Gianetti serves as the Team Principal and CEO, while also holding a position on the Board of Directors.

Gianetti's influence in the cycling community extends beyond his own achievements; he is also the father of Noé Gianetti, a former professional cyclist, continuing the family's legacy in the sport.
