Mauro Icardi

Mauro Icardi, born on February 19, 1993, is an Argentine professional footballer renowned for his role as a striker and captain of Süper Lig club Galatasaray. His football journey began in the youth teams of Vecindario, before he honed his skills at La Masia, the prestigious youth academy of FC Barcelona. In 2012, Icardi transitioned to professional football with Serie A club Sampdoria, where he quickly made a name for himself.

In July 2013, Icardi signed with Inter Milan, where he evolved into one of Europe's most prolific strikers. His remarkable talent earned him the Capocannoniere title in both the 2014–15 and 2017–18 seasons. At just twenty-two years old, he was appointed captain of Inter in 2015, leading the team to a UEFA Champions League spot for the first time in six years. Icardi stands as the club's ninth-highest goalscorer of all time.

In 2019, Icardi made a significant move to Paris Saint-Germain on an initial one-year loan, where he contributed to a domestic treble. Following a successful season, he joined the club permanently for a fee of fifty million euros. After a fruitful loan spell at Galatasaray, where he played a pivotal role in securing a Süper Lig title, Icardi made his move to the club permanent in 2023 for a fee of ten million euros.

On the international stage, Icardi made his senior debut for Argentina in October 2013. Although he played sparingly until 2018, he earned eight caps and scored once, showcasing his potential on the global front.
