Maxim Lapierre, born on March 29, 1985, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. His journey in the sport began when he was drafted from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round, being the sixty-first overall pick in the 2003 NHL entry draft.
Lapierre's early career saw him spending parts of three seasons with the Canadiens' minor league affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs, in the American Hockey League (AHL). It wasn't until the 2008–09 season that he made his mark in the NHL, playing his first full season with the Canadiens.
After five-and-a-half seasons with the Canadiens, Lapierre was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in December 2010. His career took another turn two months later when he joined the Vancouver Canucks, where he played a pivotal role in the team's journey to the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, ultimately falling short against the Boston Bruins.
On July 5, 2013, Lapierre signed with the St. Louis Blues as a free agent, further expanding his professional experience. His time with the Blues came to an end on January 27, 2015, when he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Marcel Goc, marking another significant chapter in his career.
