Meena

The Meena tribe, primarily located in the northern and western regions of India, is often regarded as a sub-group of the Bhil community. This classification highlights the rich cultural tapestry of the Indian subcontinent, where various tribes contribute to the diverse heritage.

In recognition of their unique identity and historical significance, the Government of India conferred Scheduled Tribe status upon the Meena community in nineteen fifty-four. This designation has played a crucial role in providing the tribe with certain rights and privileges aimed at promoting their socio-economic development.
