Menkaure

Menkaure, a prominent king of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, is often recognized by his Hellenized names, including Mykerinos and Mycerinus. His reign is marked by significant achievements and contributions to ancient Egyptian culture and architecture.

According to historical records, Menkaure succeeded Khafre, although some sources, like Manetho, suggest he followed Bikheris. His lineage is part of a notable list of rulers from the Fourth Dynasty, which includes figures such as Sôris, Suphis I, and Suphis II.

Menkaure is perhaps best known for his impressive tomb, the Pyramid of Menkaure, located at Giza. This monumental structure stands as a testament to his legacy and the architectural prowess of his time. Additionally, his statue triads, depicting him alongside the goddess Hathor and various regional deities, further illustrate his significance in the pantheon of ancient Egyptian rulers.
