Mervin Tran, born on September twenty-second, nineteen ninety, is a retired Canadian figure skater who made significant contributions to the sport during his competitive years. He first gained international recognition while competing for Japan alongside his partner Narumi Takahashi. Together, they achieved remarkable success, becoming the first pair to win a World medal for Japan, securing the bronze at the 2012 World Championships.

Tran's impressive career also includes a silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships and a championship title at the 2010 JGP Final. Additionally, he dominated the Japanese national scene, clinching the national championship title from two thousand eight to two thousand ten. After his partnership with Takahashi concluded, Tran briefly represented Canada, competing with Natasha Purich for one season.

Later, Tran transitioned to competing for the United States, where he partnered with Marissa Castelli. Their collaboration led to a silver medal at the 2017 U.S. National Championships. Following Castelli's retirement, Tran continued to pursue his passion for skating by partnering with Olivia Serafini for a short period.
