Mesud II, born in the year one thousand two hundred sixty, was a prominent military leader who held the title of Sultan of Rûm intermittently from one thousand two hundred eighty-four to one thousand three hundred eight.
During his reign, Mesud II was a vassal of the Mongols under the rule of Mahmud Ghazan. Despite his title, he wielded little real authority, navigating the complexities of a turbulent political landscape.
His tenure as Sultan marked the final chapter for the Seljuks of Rum, as he was the last to bear this historic title. Mesud II passed away in one thousand three hundred eight, leaving behind a legacy intertwined with the decline of his dynasty.
