Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Michael Carrick

Michael Carrick, born on July 28, 1981, is an esteemed English football coach and former player, currently serving as the head coach of Manchester United in the Premier League. His illustrious playing career spanned twelve years at Manchester United, where he not only made a significant impact as a defensive midfielder but also showcased his versatility by stepping in as an emergency centre-back under various managers, including Sir Alex Ferguson and José Mourinho.

Beginning his football journey at West Ham United, Carrick joined the youth team in 1997 and celebrated victory in the FA Youth Cup two years later. His early career saw him loaned to Swindon Town and Birmingham City before solidifying his place in the first team by the 2000–01 season. After over 150 appearances for the Hammers, he transferred to Tottenham Hotspur in 2004 for a fee believed to be three and a half million pounds, where he played a pivotal role for two seasons before moving to Manchester United in 2006 for a fee of fourteen million pounds.

At Manchester United, Carrick quickly became a mainstay in the first team, making over fifty appearances in his debut season. He was instrumental in the team’s success, contributing to their Premier League title win in the 2006–07 season and playing a crucial role in the 2008 Champions League final, where he helped secure the European double. By 2025, he stands as one of only two English players, alongside Wayne Rooney, to have won every major domestic and international honor, including the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and FIFA Club World Cup.

On the international stage, Carrick represented England at various levels, including under-18, under-21, and senior teams. He made his senior debut in 2001, earning thirty-four caps throughout his career. Despite often being overlooked in favor of contemporaries, he established himself as a regular in the England squad during the 2012–13 season and participated in two World Cups, in 2006 and 2010.
