Michael Chang, born on February 22, 1972, is a distinguished American former professional tennis player and coach. Renowned for his remarkable achievements on the court, he reached a career-high ranking of world No. 2 in 1996, solidifying his place among the tennis elite.
Chang made history at the young age of seventeen years and one hundred nine days when he triumphed at the 1989 French Open, becoming the youngest man ever to win a singles major. Over his illustrious career, he amassed a total of thirty-four ATP Tour-level singles titles, including seven prestigious Masters titles, and was a three-time major runner-up.
In recognition of his contributions to the sport, Chang was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008.
