Michael Cretu

Michael Cretu, born on May eighteenth, nineteen fifty-seven, is a renowned Romanian-German musician, celebrated for his multifaceted talents as a composer, pianist, record producer, singer, and keyboardist. He first embarked on his musical journey in nineteen seventy-six, establishing himself as a solo artist and releasing three studio albums. During this time, he also wrote and produced music for his then-wife, the German pop singer Sandra, and collaborated with notable artists such as Peter Cornelius, Hubert Kah, and Mike Oldfield throughout the nineteen eighties.

In nineteen ninety, Cretu achieved global recognition as the founder of the musical project Enigma. The project quickly gained traction with the release of its debut album, MCMXC a.D., which featured the hit single “Sadeness (Part I).” This unexpected commercial success marked a significant turning point in his career, propelling him into the international spotlight.

Enigma has since released a total of eight albums, with the latest being The Fall of a Rebel Angel in two thousand sixteen.
