Michael Durant, born on July twenty-third, nineteen sixty-one, is a distinguished American veteran and former pilot who has made significant contributions as a businessman, author, and political candidate. His military career is marked by his service in the U.S. Army, where he was a proud member of the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, known as the Night Stalkers. Durant's bravery was showcased during the intense Battle of Mogadishu in nineteen ninety-three, where he was held as a prisoner of war for eleven days.

Throughout his military tenure, Durant participated in numerous high-stakes combat operations, including Prime Chance, Just Cause, Desert Storm, and the infamous Gothic Serpent. His dedication and skill led to his promotion from Chief Warrant Officer Three to Chief Warrant Officer Four, culminating in his retirement in two thousand one as a Master Aviator of Black Hawk helicopters.
