Michael Sokolowski

Michael Sokolowski, born on February twenty-fourth, nineteen sixty-two, is a retired Canadian sprinter known for his remarkable contributions to athletics. He represented Canada in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 1984 Summer Olympics, where his team finished in eighth place, showcasing his talent on an international stage.

Throughout his career, Sokolowski was associated with the Scarborough Optimist Track and Field Club, where he trained alongside many fellow sprinters. However, his athletic journey took a controversial turn when he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs during the Dubin Inquiry in nineteen eighty-nine. This admission led to the suspension of his funding, marking a significant moment in his career.

In addition to his own achievements, Michael is also known as the older brother of John Sokolowski, who is a fellow Olympian. The Sokolowski family has made a notable impact in the world of athletics, with both brothers representing Canada at the highest levels of competition.
