Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Michel Guimond

Michel Guimond, born on December twenty-sixth, nineteen fifty-three, was a prominent Canadian politician and lawyer. His political journey began in the late eighties when he served as a city councillor in Boischatel, Quebec, from nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen ninety-three. This local experience paved the way for his entry into federal politics.

In nineteen ninety-three, Guimond was elected to the House of Commons of Canada as a member of the Bloc Québécois, representing the riding of Beauport—Montmorency—Orléans. His political career flourished as he was re-elected in the subsequent federal elections of nineteen ninety-seven, two thousand, and two thousand four, with his riding changing to Beauport—Montmorency—Côte-de-Beaupré—Île-d'Orléans and later to Charlevoix—Montmorency.

Guimond's influence continued as he won elections in Montmorency—Charlevoix—Haute-Côte-Nord in two thousand four and two thousand eight. He held various significant roles, including the Bloc critic for Parliamentary Affairs and Transport, as well as serving as whip and deputy whip. His commitment to parliamentary processes was evident in his position as vice-chair of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

In two thousand fourteen, he sought to represent the riding of Montmorency for the Parti Québécois in the provincial election but was unsuccessful. Tragically, Michel Guimond passed away from heart failure on January nineteenth, two thousand fifteen, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service.
