Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire

Born in Montreal, Quebec in nineteen forty-one, Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire has made significant strides in the field of engineering. As the first woman to earn a degree in civil engineering in Canada, she has paved the way for future generations of female engineers.

Her contributions to the engineering community have not gone unnoticed. In two thousand three, she was inducted into the prestigious Order of Canada, recognizing her exceptional service to the nation. Further solidifying her legacy, she was honored as a Knight of the National Order of Quebec in two thousand five.

In addition to her accolades, Thibodeau-DeGuire has taken on leadership roles that reflect her commitment to education and engineering. Since two thousand thirteen, she has served as the chair of the Board of Directors of the Corporation of École Polytechnique de Montréal, influencing the next wave of engineers.
