Michelle Steel

Michelle Steel, born on June twenty-first, nineteen fifty-five, is a prominent American politician known for her significant contributions to California's political landscape. She served as the U.S. representative for California's forty-fifth congressional district from twenty twenty-three to twenty twenty-five, following her tenure representing the forty-eighth congressional district from twenty twenty-one to twenty twenty-three.

A dedicated member of the Republican Party, Steel was an integral part of House minority whip Steve Scalise's Whip Team during the one hundred seventeenth Congress. In twenty twenty-four, she sought re-election for a third term but faced defeat in the general election against Democratic challenger Derek Tran.

Before her congressional career, Steel made her mark on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, representing the second district from twenty fifteen to twenty twenty-one. Additionally, she served on the California State Board of Equalization for the third district from two thousand seven to two thousand fifteen. Notably, Steel, alongside fellow California Republican Young Kim and Democrat Marilyn Strickland of Washington, became one of the first Korean-American women to serve in Congress.
