Mieszko IV Tanglefoot, born in the year one thousand one hundred thirty-two, was a prominent figure in Polish history, serving as the Duke of Kraków and High Duke of Poland from June ninth, one thousand two hundred ten until his passing on May sixteenth, one thousand two hundred eleven. His reign marked a significant period in the political landscape of Poland during the early thirteenth century.
In addition to his role as High Duke, Mieszko IV held the title of Duke of Silesia from one thousand one hundred sixty-three to one thousand one hundred seventy-three, sharing this responsibility with his brother as co-ruler. He later became the Duke of Racibórz in one thousand one hundred seventy-three and assumed control of Opole in one thousand two hundred two, showcasing his extensive influence across various regions.
