Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo

Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, born on January 8, 1946, is a notorious figure in the world of drug trafficking, recognized as one of the founding members of the Guadalajara Cartel. This cartel was instrumental in controlling a significant portion of drug trafficking operations in Mexico during the 1980s, particularly along the critical corridors that connect Mexico to the United States.

His criminal activities led to his arrest in 1989, following charges related to the assassination of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. This high-profile case drew international attention and highlighted the violent struggles within the drug trade.

Félix Gallardo was sentenced to forty years in prison, initially serving his time at the Altiplano maximum-security facility. However, due to health issues, he was transferred to a medium-security prison in 2014, marking a significant shift in his incarceration.
