Mike D'Antoni

Mike D'Antoni, born on May eighth, nineteen fifty-one, is a distinguished American-Italian basketball coach and former player. He has made significant contributions to the sport, most recently serving as a coaching advisor for the New Orleans Pelicans in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

His coaching career is highlighted by his tenure with the Phoenix Suns, where he was awarded the NBA Coach of the Year for the two thousand four to two thousand five season. Under his leadership, the Suns achieved an impressive thirty-three more wins than the previous season, showcasing his ability to transform teams.

D'Antoni's coaching journey continued with the New York Knicks, where he took the helm in two thousand eight and remained until his resignation in two thousand twelve. He later joined the Los Angeles Lakers just seven games into the two thousand twelve to two thousand thirteen season. On June first, two thousand sixteen, he was appointed head coach of the Houston Rockets, earning his second NBA Coach of the Year award for the two thousand sixteen to two thousand seventeen season.
