Mike Dirnt

Michael Ryan Pritchard, widely recognized by his stage name Mike Dirnt, was born on May 4, 1972. He is an influential American rock musician, best known as the co-founder and bassist of the iconic band Green Day. In addition to his role as a bassist, Dirnt contributes as a backing vocalist and occasionally takes on lead vocal duties, showcasing his versatile musical talents.

Dirnt's journey into music began in his childhood, where he earned the nickname 'Dirnt' from his friends. This playful moniker stemmed from his habit of mimicking bass guitar playing, complete with the distinctive 'dirnt, dirnt, dirnt' sound he made while pretending to pluck the strings. This early passion for music laid the foundation for his future career.

Throughout his career, Mike Dirnt has not only made a mark with Green Day but has also explored other musical avenues, including his involvement with the band the Frustrators.
