Mike Gartner

Mike Gartner, born on October twenty-ninth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. Over the course of his illustrious career, he played for nineteen seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), showcasing his talent with teams such as the Washington Capitals, Minnesota North Stars, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Phoenix Coyotes.

In addition to his NHL accomplishments, Gartner also spent a season in the World Hockey Association (WHA) with the Cincinnati Stingers. His contributions to the sport were further highlighted when he became a two-time Canada Cup champion with Team Canada, solidifying his status as a key player on the international stage.

In recognition of his exceptional skills and achievements, Gartner was named one of the one hundred Greatest NHL Players in the league's century-long history in two thousand seventeen. His legacy was further cemented when he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in two thousand one. Since two thousand nine, he has served on the HHOF Selection Committee, and as of two thousand twenty-two, he has taken on the role of chair.
