Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson, born on January 30, 1972, is a prominent American lawyer and politician who has made significant strides in his career, currently serving as the fifty-sixth speaker of the United States House of Representatives since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he has represented Louisiana's fourth congressional district since 2017, marking his fifth term in the House.

Johnson's educational background includes a degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. Before venturing into the political arena, he practiced law both in private practice and with the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative Christian legal advocacy organization. His commitment to social issues is evident from his tenure on the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2004 to 2012.

His political journey began in 2015 when he was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives, serving until 2017. He made his congressional debut in 2016, where he became known for contesting the results of the 2020 presidential election both on the House floor and in court. As a staunch social conservative, Johnson has advocated for nationwide abortion bans and led the Republican Study Committee from 2019 to 2021, the largest conservative caucus in Congress.

On October 25, 2023, following the ousting of Kevin McCarthy, Johnson was elected as the new speaker of the House. His leadership was reaffirmed when he was narrowly reelected to a full term as speaker in 2025, solidifying his influence within the Republican Party and Congress.
