Mike Kitchen, born on February first, nineteen fifty-six, is a distinguished Canadian former defenceman and coach in the world of ice hockey. Hailing from Newmarket, Ontario, and raised in Schomberg, he carved out a notable career in the National Hockey League after being selected in the third round of the nineteen seventy-six NHL Amateur Draft by the Kansas City Scouts.
Throughout his extensive coaching career, Kitchen has made a significant impact, most recently serving as an assistant coach for the Florida Panthers. By February two thousand sixteen, he had coached in over two thousand four hundred NHL games, including playoffs. His coaching prowess was particularly evident during the two thousand twelve to two thousand thirteen season when he played a key role in guiding the Chicago Blackhawks to their longest winning streak without a loss.
