Mike Legg

Mike Legg, born on May twenty-fifth, nineteen seventy-five, is a celebrated Canadian former ice hockey player renowned for his remarkable contribution to the sport. He gained fame for executing the iconic 'Michigan goal' during a thrilling NCAA Tournament game in nineteen ninety-six while representing the University of Michigan against the University of Minnesota. This extraordinary goal involved Legg skillfully lifting the puck onto his stick from behind the net and wrapping it into the top corner, a move that has since become legendary.

Legg's unforgettable goal earned him the prestigious 'Goal of the Year' award from Inside Hockey, solidifying his place in hockey history. The stick he used for this remarkable feat was even donated to the Hockey Hall of Fame, a testament to the impact of his play. He learned the technique from Bill Armstrong, showcasing the importance of mentorship in sports.

Despite being drafted by the New Jersey Devils in nineteen ninety-three, Legg's professional career did not see him play in the NHL.
