Mike Phelan

Mike Phelan, born on September twenty-four, nineteen sixty-two, is a distinguished English football coach and former player, known for his extensive career in the sport. Hailing from Nelson, Lancashire, Phelan spent the majority of his playing days at notable clubs such as Burnley, Norwich City, and Manchester United, with a brief stint at West Bromwich Albion before hanging up his boots. During his time at Manchester United, he also earned a single cap for the England national team, showcasing his talent on an international level.

After transitioning from player to coach, Phelan began his managerial journey as an assistant to Gary Megson at Norwich City. His career path led him to Blackpool and Stockport County, where he continued to develop his coaching skills. Phelan's return to Manchester United saw him rise through the ranks, eventually becoming Alex Ferguson's chief first-team coach and later the assistant manager in two thousand eight, a role he held until Ferguson's retirement in two thousand thirteen.

Following a year away from the game, Phelan rejoined Norwich City as a first-team coach in November two thousand fourteen. He briefly took charge of the team after Neil Adams' resignation in January two thousand fifteen, but was soon replaced by Alex Neil. In a twist of fate, Phelan was appointed assistant manager at Hull City under Steve Bruce, where he was later promoted to first-team management in October two thousand sixteen. Unfortunately, his tenure at Hull ended in January two thousand seventeen, with the club positioned twentieth in the Premier League.

In addition to his football career, Mike Phelan is also known as the younger brother of Pat Phelan, a character from the popular television series Coronation Street. His contributions to football, both on and off the pitch, have solidified his legacy in the sport.
