Mike Scully

Michael C. Scully, born on October 2, 1956, is a prominent American television writer and producer, best known for his influential role in the animated sitcom The Simpsons. Scully's journey began in West Springfield, Massachusetts, where he developed a passion for writing despite being an underachiever in school. After dropping out of college, he explored various jobs before moving to Los Angeles in nineteen eighty-six, where he initially worked as a stand-up comic and wrote for comedian Yakov Smirnoff.

In nineteen ninety-three, Scully joined The Simpsons as a writer, contributing to twelve memorable episodes, including fan favorites like 'Lisa on Ice' and 'Team Homer.' His tenure as executive producer and showrunner from seasons nine to twelve garnered him three Primetime Emmy Awards, highlighting his significant impact on the series. While many praised his episodes, some critics viewed his time as a period of decline in the show's quality.

Beyond The Simpsons, Scully has co-created several television projects, including The Pitts, The Boy Who Lost His Schoolbag, and Complete Savages. He has also contributed to popular shows such as Everybody Loves Raymond and Parks and Recreation. More recently, he co-developed the animated adaptation of Napoleon Dynamite and collaborated with his wife, Julie Thacker, and comedian Amy Poehler on the series Duncanville.
