Mildred Gillars

Mildred Gillars, born on November twenty-ninth, nineteen hundred, was an American radio personality and journalist who became infamous during World War II. Employed by Nazi Germany, she played a pivotal role in disseminating Axis propaganda, earning her the notorious nickname 'Axis Sally' alongside her colleague Rita Zucca.

Following the war, Gillars was captured in Berlin and faced serious charges for her actions. In a historic moment, she became the first woman to be convicted of treason against the United States. Her trial drew significant attention, highlighting the complexities of loyalty and betrayal during a tumultuous period in history.

In March nineteen forty-nine, Gillars was sentenced to a prison term ranging from ten to thirty years. After serving a portion of her sentence, she was paroled in nineteen sixty-one, marking the end of a controversial chapter in her life.
