Miloš Vučević

Miloš Vučević, born on December tenth, nineteen seventy-four, is a prominent Serbian politician and lawyer. He has held significant positions in Serbian politics, including serving as the Prime Minister of Serbia from two thousand twenty-four to two thousand twenty-five. As the president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since two thousand twenty-three, Vučević has been a key figure in shaping the political landscape of Serbia.

Born in Novi Sad, Vučević graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Novi Sad in nineteen ninety-nine. He began his career as a lawyer before entering politics in two thousand eight when he joined SNS. His political journey took off when he was elected president of the party's Novi Sad branch in two thousand eleven, leading to his election as mayor of Novi Sad in September two thousand twelve after a successful campaign that garnered sixteen percent of the popular vote.

During his tenure as mayor, which lasted until two thousand twenty-two, Vučević implemented significant urban development projects, improved infrastructure, and initiated the Novi Sad on Water project. He was re-elected in two thousand sixteen and two thousand twenty, becoming the longest-serving mayor of Novi Sad by two thousand twenty-one. His leadership coincided with Novi Sad being recognized as the European Youth Capital and the European Capital of Culture.

In October two thousand twenty-two, Vučević was appointed Minister of Defence in Ana Brnabić's third cabinet. His term was marked by involvement in the North Kosovo crisis and leading SNS in the two thousand twenty-three parliamentary elections, where the party achieved forty-eight percent of the popular vote. Following the elections, he ascended to the role of Prime Minister, focusing on trade relations and lithium mining projects, while facing protests related to environmental issues and education.

Despite his self-identification as an anti-corruption politician, Vučević has faced accusations of corruption and connections to businessmen with similar allegations. His political stance is characterized by populism, advocating for military neutrality while supporting cooperation with NATO and the United States. He opposes sanctions against Russia regarding the Ukraine invasion and the independence of Kosovo, reflecting a complex and often controversial political profile.
