Mina Rosner

Mina Rosner, born on October eighth, nineteen thirteen, in Buczacz, Galicia, Austria-Hungary, now known as Buchach, Ukraine, is a remarkable memoirist whose life story is a testament to resilience and survival. During the harrowing times of The Holocaust, she found refuge by hiding with a Polish family, an experience that would shape her narrative for years to come.

After the war, Mina relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, alongside her husband, Michael Rosner. It was in this new land that she began to document her wartime experiences, culminating in her poignant memoir, I am a Witness. Her writing serves not only as a personal account but also as a vital historical record of the atrocities faced during that dark period.

In nineteen ninety, Mina made a significant return to Buchach, her hometown, for the first time since the war. This emotional journey was captured in a CBC documentary titled Return to Buchach, which garnered critical acclaim and won a gold medal at the New York Film and Television Festival in nineteen ninety-two.
