Mina Witkojc

Mina Witkojc, born on May twenty-eighth, nineteen ninety-three, was a prominent Sorbian journalist, poet, translator, and writer. Throughout her life, she passionately advocated for the Lower Sorbian language, dedicating her work to preserving and promoting her cultural heritage.

Her commitment to democracy and ethnic advocacy, however, came at a great personal cost. During the rise of the Nazi regime, Witkojc faced persecution for her beliefs, which ultimately forced her into exile. This challenging period did not deter her spirit; instead, it fueled her resolve to continue her cultural contributions.

After the conclusion of the Second World War, Witkojc returned to her hometown of Burg, where she resumed her vital work in the arts and journalism. Her legacy as a champion of the Sorbian language and culture remains influential, inspiring future generations to embrace their identity and heritage.
