Minh Le

Minh Le, also known by his online alias Gooseman, was born on June 27, 1977. He is a Vietnamese-Canadian engineer, programmer, and businessperson renowned for his significant contributions to the video game industry. In 1999, he co-created the iconic Half-Life mod Counter-Strike alongside Jess Cliffe, which laid the foundation for the highly successful Counter-Strike series.

Following his groundbreaking work on Counter-Strike, Le joined Valve, the developers behind Half-Life, where he dedicated eight years of his career to advancing the multiplayer first-person shooter genre. His expertise led him to work in Korea on Tactical Intervention, a game that further showcased his programming and design skills.

In addition to his work with Valve, Minh Le has taken on the role of a contractor for the multiplayer survival game Rust. Throughout his career, he has worn many hats, serving as a programmer, modeler, and designer in various small-team projects, demonstrating his versatility and passion for game development.

Le's nickname, Gooseman, is inspired by Shane Gooseman, a character from the beloved 1980s animated series The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, reflecting his fondness for pop culture and its influence on his creative journey.
